Modi government tables Women’s Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha

The Narendra Modi government has introduced the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha, fulfilling promises made in the 2014 and 2019 elections. The bill aims to reserve 33% of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures. It also proposes that one-third of the seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will be reserved for women.
