The Indian government will provide a subsidy of up to 8% on loans to craftsmen under the Vishwakarma Yojana, according to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The programme includes 18 professions such as masons, carpenters, and goldsmiths, and will provide collateral-free loans at a 5% interest rate. Beneficiaries will receive a Rs 1 lakh loan initially, and an additional Rs 2 lakh after 18 months of repayment.
