The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) has fined TikTok €345 million ($379 million) for failing to protect children’s data on its platform. The fine was issued under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and comes after TikTok was found to have violated eight articles of the GDPR. The DPC requires TikTok to bring its processing into compliance within three months.
