A Seattle police officer is under scrutiny for making insensitive comments following the death of an Indian student who was struck by a patrol car. In bodycam footage, the officer can be heard saying the victim had “limited value” and suggesting that a settlement of $11,000 would be sufficient. An investigation revealed that the officer was driving at 74 mph in a 25 mph zone. The Seattle Police Department has released the video and referred the matter to the Office of Police Accountability for review.
