Airbus hands over C295 transport aircraft to IAF, first lot under Rs 22,000 crore project

Under the agreement, Airbus will deliver the first 16 aircraft from its final assembly line in Seville by 2025, with the remaining 40 to be manufactured and assembled by Tata Advanced Systems in India. The C295 is set to replace the IAF’s Avro-748 fleet, and is known for its versatility in tactical transport and logistical operations. The IAF is set to become the largest operator of the C295 globally.
